Supporting Southern California Wildfire Relief
ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross, Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation
DATE:
When our southern California communities were impacted by
the wildfire crisis this January of 2025, Team Panda took swift action to
support affected communities and first responders by providing funding, food
and volunteer services.
American Red Cross Donation
Panda donated $750,000 to the American Red Cross to aid in
the wildfire relief efforts, including $250,000 from the Panda Cares
Foundation, a matching gift of $250,000 from Panda Restaurant Group, and an
additional $250,000 from the Panda Charitable Family Foundation.
Food Donations &
Volunteerism
Our store operators served our communities by supporting 65
food donations, preparing 2.5K+ meals for first responders, shelters and
community members affected by the wildfires. Panda volunteers supported YMCA
facilities in Monrovia and South Pasadena in sorting donations for victims
affected by the Eaton Canyon fire in Altadena.
Partnership with the Los
Angeles Dodgers Foundation
Panda Cares and the PR Marketing Team collaborated to
provide free meal vouchers and Panda swag to a total of over 3,900 affected
individuals at the LA Strong Essentials Distribution event at Dodgers Stadium
on Fri, 1/17 and the Eaton Fire Relief Distribution event at Robinson Park in
Pasadena, CA.
Temporary Shelter
Panda provided a safe place to stay for Panda Associates
affected by the fires by setting up a temporary shelter at Panda’s Support
Center in Rosemead, CA
During these unprecedented events, we stand together as One
Team Panda to ensure that our people and communities have the support they
need.
